Story

My personality: Gentle, tentative, nervous. My story: When I was just two months old, I was abandoned on the streets in an area where lots of big, territorial dogs lived. Being so young and having little to no survival skills, I was extremely vulnerable. To make matters worse, I had also fallen ill with a number of different health issues. By a stroke of luck, though, Soi Dog had a mobile team in the area at the time. They saw my struggle, rescued me and transferred me to the shelter for safety and treatment. My needs: My tough start in life has left me with trust issues, and I can be nervous in new environments and sensitive to loud noises. With this in mind, I will need time to adjust to my new home and patience as I do so. Story

My personality: Insecure but friendly and sweet.My story: At the tender age of two months, my brother and I found ourselves struggling to survive on the streets and ended up skinny and weak. I was too young to remember how we ended up so alone and unwell, but luckily a kind local found us and reported us to Soi Dog. Upon entry, the vets noticed I was having difficulty using by hind legs, so they performed some different surgeries to help. Don't worry though, I've recovered from all that now and, although I do have my own special squatting walk as a result, I’ve adapted well and enjoy walkies.My needs: My brother left the shelter to join his new family last year, but since I'm more of a sensitive soul, I needed some extra support from the behaviour team before I was ready to follow in his pawsteps. Although it still takes me a bit of time to get to know strangers, I enjoy making new friends nowadays and, once I do, I let them see the real quirky and sweet me. I'd like a home with a family who understands that I may need a bit of time to settle in and show them what a great family member I can be. Although I do enjoy going for walkies, the vets here advise that I take it easy due to my past medical issues. Story

My personality: Cautious, sensitive, sweet.My story: A couple on holiday in Thailand found my siblings and I struggling on the streets. We were two months old at the time, alone, with maggot wounds covering our young malnourished bodies. The couple were kind enough to take us to a local vet and pay for our treatment, and we recovered well. Fearing that we’d be returned to the streets afterwards just to become sick and injured again, the couple contacted Soi Dog and asked if they had room for three little pups. They said yes, and the rest is history!My needs: As a naturally sensitive girl, I’m easily affected by my surroundings, so I’m looking for an experienced family who live in a quiet neighbourhood. If there are other dogs in the home, great! I find that being around more confident dogs gives me courage. My siblings found their own homes long ago, but I’m still here. Hm. It can’t be my looks that’s putting people off because everyone says I’m a strikingly beautiful girl, so it must be my cautious personality. I don’t feel I’m asking for much though – just some patience and understanding as I settle into my new life. Story

My personality: Playful, loving, all-round good boy.My story: I arrived at Soi Dog in a world of pain. It was September 2021, and I’d been hit by a car two days before. The impact left me wounded, bruised and fractured, and the vets had to build me back up again – just like a snowman! After months of treatment, surgery and rest, I was well enough to move from the hospital to one of the shelter’s special care kennels which was purpose-built for special dogs like me. I spend my days here cuddling with my carer, going for walks and waiting for the perfect person to come along and take me home.My needs: As you can see, I get around just fine for now. However, I will need a wheelchair at some point in the future as my left hind leg and hip aren’t the strongest. That might sound like a big deal, but I promise it’s not. I’m up for the challenge of wheels and can assure you that I’ll be wagging that surprisingly bushy tail of mine no matter what! My personality: Fun, cheeky, energetic.My story: In May 2019, while aimlessly roaming the streets, I was hit by a car. Usually, people don’t stop for homeless dogs like me, but the kind man who accidentally hit me did. He picked me up and rushed me to Soi Dog straight away. I’m so grateful that he did because my pelvis and right hip were fractured and required urgent medical attention. I also needed lots of cage rest which was hard for me as I’m a real get-up-and-go kind of dog!My needs: I’m looking for a home with no young children which is funny really because in many ways I’m like a young child myself – I’m small, I like to play and I’m always trying to stay up past my bedtime! However, my energy and excitement might be too much for other little’uns, so that’s why I’m searching for a more adult home. Hi there. My name is Haylen, and I'm a playful brindle boy hoping to finally find a loving home. It's been a tough old road for me. I used to live at a government pound in the northeast of Thailand, but unfortunately I didn't flourish there. I struggled being around so many other dogs in a small space, and I had a problem with my hind legs that made it difficult to walk. It was clear that I needed some love and care and a check-up from a vet, so Soi Dog took me into the safety of their shelter. Since then, I have grown in confidence and feel like I'm a better version of myself.At first glance, you can see that I'm an extremely handsome boy with distinctive markings, but that's not all! I also have a sweet personality that's captured the hearts of many. I enjoy the company of people, whether they're new aquaintances or old friends. But don't worry, I'm also independent and don't need to be showered in attention all the time.My easygoing personality will fit in with any lifestyle; however, the only thing I ask is to be your one and only as I find being around other dogs difficult.Over the years I have watched many dogs come and go.
